CEO at Discovery Group
Adrian Gore founded Discovery in South Africa in 1992 – with a core purpose “to make people healthier and enhance and protect their lives”. Discovery is now a global financial services organization and is renowned for Vitality, the largest global platform that prices behavior change into insurance and financial services pricing. This pioneering model of insurance – coined Vitality Shared Value – is transforming insurance markets globally and making a significant share of the global insured population healthier and extending life expectancy.
The Vitality model has been adopted by leading global insurers including John Hancock in the United States, Manulife in Canada, Generali in Europe, AIA across Asia-Pacific, Ping An Health in China and Sumitomo Life in Japan, among others. This is achieved through an ecosystem of reward partners, technology assets, clinical capabilities, and actuarial data and structures, that help partners integrate behavior change into products and pricing. Together this network of Vitality-integrated insurers represents more than 30% of the global personal protection market, across 27 countries covering over 40 million lives.
